5.4 - Flow charts for locating malfunctions
• The inverter display does not come on
• The motor will not start
• Display of a trip code
See section 5.2.
• The motor does not accelerate and is noisy
• The inverter does not react to programming
instructions via the serial link
• Inverter parameters incorrectly set
Note :
- The inverter malfunction is often due to incorrect
settings. A guide to settings is given in section 4.6.
- If, after performing all the above checks, the system still
does not work, contact your supplier.
Supply voltage
Check : mains, fuses or
isolator.

YES
Consult the supplier
The inverter displays
"rdY"
Give a run command
via :
- the key in
operator panel mode
(b9 = 0),
- terminal C10 or C12
in terminal block mode
(b9 = 1).
YES
NO
The inverter displays
"

"
YES
Set P1 to a value other
than 0.
TERMINAL BLOCK MODE
- Is the frequency reference
reaching the terminal ?
- Is the reference in
voltage or in current ?
- Are the preset speed
values other than 0 ?
KEYPAD MODE
Increase the frequency
reference using the
key.
YES
YES
YES
BOOST too high ?
• Reduce the value of
P6.
• Try auto-BOOST
(b3 = 0).
YES
NO
Significant load ?
Reduce the load or
increase the overload
setting at P4, P5.
YES
NO
Is a phase missing on
the motor ?
Rewire the motor
correctly.
YES
Is the inverter configured
for control via the serial
link ?
• Connect terminal C11
to 0V.
• Program correctly
parameters :
b6, b10, b12, P9.
• Use a protocol which
is compatible with the
communication device.
NO
YES
Is the serial link
correctly wired ?
• Check the connections
(depending on protocol).
• Check the impedance
matching resistances.
NO
Revert to factory settings.
See section 4.1.3
YES
Reprogram the inverter
as described in section
4.2 (commissioning).
NO
Is the motor connected
correctly ?
Change the connection
(see section 3.1.3)
