Choosing a display mode
You can display your desktop and apps on the tablet, the external display, or both.
To choose how to display the video output, do the following:
• For Windows 8.1:
1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen to display the charms.
2. Tap Devices ➙ Project ➙ Second screen .
3. Tap to select a presentation scheme.
• For Windows 10:
1. Open the Start menu.
2. Tap Settings . If Settings is not displayed, tap All apps to display all programs, and then tap
Settings ➙ System ➙ Display .
3. Follow the instructions on the screen to select a presentation scheme.
Using the Global Navigation Satellite System receiver
Your tablet might have a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver that enables you to pinpoint
your location down to the street level. Use location-based applications to find your current location, get
directions to your destination, and find other location-based information.
Note: By default, the GNSS receiver is enabled. For a longer battery life, disable the GNSS receiver when
not in use.
To disable the GNSS receiver, do the following:
• For Windows 8.1 : Swipe in from the right edge of the screen to display the charms, tap Settings ➙
Change PC settings ➙ Network ➙ Airplane mode . In the GNSS or GPS section, slide the control to
the left to disable the GNSS receiver.
• For Windows 10 : Open the Start menu, tap Settings . If Settings is not displayed, tap All apps to display
all programs, and then tap Settings ➙ Network & Internet ➙ Airplane mode . In the GNSS or GPS
section, slide the control to the left to disable the GNSS receiver.
