Configuring the Number of Spanning Tree Groups
The
maximum
number
of
Spanning
Tree
Groups
(STGs)
available
on
the
switch
can
be
configured
to
be
either
128
or
256.
The
following
command
displays
the
current
maximum
limit
of
STGs
on
the
switch
and
the
maximum
limit
configured
after
the
switch
reloads:
show
boot
spanning
tree

value

The
switch
needs

reloaded
for
the
configuration
to
take
effect.

the
maximum
number

STGs
available
on
the
switch
to
the
default
value
of
128
.

NOTE:
A
Reboot
is
required
for
the
new
settings
to
take
effect.
When
switching
from
256
to
128
STP
instances,
please
remove
any
extra
configuration
for
STP
instance
128
and
above,
then
save
the
configuration
;
otherwise,
all
STP
instance
configuration
may
be
lost
after
reload.
