Replacing the Wi-Fi antennas
Attention: Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the Chapter
1 “Read this first: Important safety information” on page 1.
To replace the Wi-Fi antennas, refer to the following topics:
• “Replacing the front Wi-Fi antenna” on page 121
• “Replacing the rear Wi-Fi antenna” on page 123
Replacing the front Wi-Fi antenna
To replace the front Wi-Fi antenna, do the following:
1. Remove any media from the drives and turn off all connected devices and the computer. Then,
disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the
computer.
2. Remove the computer cover. See “Removing the computer cover” on page 90.
3. Remove the front bezel. See “Replacing the front bezel” on page 90.
4. Disconnect the front antenna cable from the Wi-Fi card module.
5. Remove the front antenna and cable from the front of the computer.

6. Peel off the paper that protects the stickers on the new front antenna.
