5.5/4.5 boots are a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) belonging to the second Category Risk
according to the REGULATION (EU) 2016/425 and it complies with the requirements laid down by the European
Standard EN13634:2017 Protective footwear for motorcycle’. It has been certified by DOLOMITICERT SCARL, Zi
Villanova, 32013 Longarone, Italy, Notified Body Number 2008.
This European Standard includes several properties which have two performance levels in terms of
protection afforded. These cover the degree of risk or hazard that a motorcyclist will face in terms of the
type of riding and the nature of the accident. At an increased accident risk “Level 2” the performance features
offers increased performance. This higher performance level has an increased penalty of weight and comfort
and may not be acceptably to all riders.

Protection provided
Leatt’s boots are designed and manufactured to provide both limited protection of the foot and lower leg
against the risk of impact in the event of a fall and maximum natural mobility to ride motorcycle with comfort
and security.
Both active and passive protection is given by the assembled plastic components and the articulation of
boot joint and mechanism that allows for natural foot, leg and ankle mobility. For proper function of the
boot it must fit and cover the foot and leg correctly. Make sure you use the correct size according to the
manufacturer’s size chart.
Use
Our boots are manufactured with the latest technology and are specifically designed for Motorcycle riders’
use only. The boots are not to be used for any other kinds of sports.

All motorized sports are HAZARDOUS, that involves various known and unknown risks that could result
injuries, permanent paralysis or even death. Leatt’s boots were designed to reduce the risk of injuries
to the foot in the event a motorcycle crash and were tested for cut and abrasive resistance as well. The
plastic components were also tested to be able to prevent injuries. No product, including Leatt’s boots, can
completely prevent injuries of any kind.
We strongly advise to check the general state of your boot, i.e, proper functioning of the closure system and
the fastening of the mechanisms, no tearing/perforation of the upper or sole, before any use.
