Chapter 3: Operation
3.1 General
This chapter provides instructions for the general operating features of
the Model 121 current source. Computer interface instructions are in
Chapter 4.
3.2 Instrument Power
The Model 121 is powered on by plugging in the power supply. There is
no power switch on the instrument. When the Model 121 is powered on,
with no errors present, “121” will illuminate for a few seconds to indi-
cate instrument initialization. The instrument powers up in the power
up state with the current disabled. Refer to section 3.6. When the instru-
ment is powered on for the first time, parameters are set to the factory
defaults, listed in TABLE 6-1. The instrument should be powered on for
thirty minutes before using for rated specifications.
