STEP 17| PRIOR TO INSTALLING THE CARTRIDGES refer to and select the Menu
button on the Rapids™ screen.
The menu button is located at the top left of the home screen. This
button looks like this:
In the Menu, choose the MAINTENANCE button then choose the INSTALL
NEW CARTRIDGES button.
A text box will appear that reads, ‘Install New Cartridges’. Read the
directions and press BEGIN.
STEP 18| Follow the prompts and animations to aid in the installation of the
new cartridges.
First, if the Velcro™ strap is not already undone, unstrap it prior to
putting in the cartridges.
Push NEXT to move through the prompts and animations.
Select the cartridge kit to be installed.
View the installation order of the kit—the fittings are numbered 1, 2,
3, 4 from right to left.
- If you forget the order of the cartridges, simply hit the back button at
the top right to refer back to the ‘View Installation Order’ page. You
can also view the order on page 21 of this manual.
Install cartridge one (1) in the first, rightmost position by pushing the it
into the two metal slots.
The NFC Tag Reader will scan the NFC tag on the cartridge kit once the
cartridge is locked into place. A green check mark will appear once the
Reader successfully scans the tag.

If the NFC tag on your genuine LabStrong™ cartridge is not reading/
scanning, use the test NFC tag in the back of the manual to ensure the
NFC tag reader in the unit is functioning. Contact our Technical Sup-
port team if there are issues with your NFC tag or reader:

Lock in the fittings on the top and bottom of the first cartridge. To do
this, firmly press down on the top fittings and up on the bottom fitting
to lock onto the tube of the cartridge.

The lip located on the top lid should rest on top of the metal slot
of the
cartridge should hit the top of the slot on the Rapids™ unit.
Install the remaining three cartridges, in the specified order, using the
same process as the first cartridge.
Double check that all the fittings, top and bottom, are tight and secure.
Replace the Velcro™ strap over the cartridges.
It is suggested to also Velcro™ together the strap and the fitting re-
moval tool for safe keeping.
