Consult your maintenance personnel or a local contractor for expertise in performing
this installation.
The mounted system was not designed to support any additional weight. Do not place
anything on top of the mounted system.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
STEP 1 | Select a location to mount the Rapids™ unit.
Select the location you wish to mount the unit.
Power source should be no more than 3ft.- 4ft./1 m away and rated at
minimum of 15 amps at 120 volts.
Inlet water source should be near the unit. (10ft. of plastic tubing has
been included with the original shipment.)
The wall must be able to support 56lbs./26kg of operating weight and
a shear weight of 225lbs./102kg (56lbs + 4x safety factor).
Mount the system above or close to a sink.
The LabStrong™ Rapids™ Type I Water Purification System
will weigh approximately 56lbs./26kg once operating. When
the system is on and the pump is running, the Rapids™ will
also vibrate. Ensure the unit is supported by a wall stud or
extra board that will support a shear weight (unit weight
plus 4x safety factor) of 22l5bs./102 kg.
USING THE TEMPLATE & PREPARING THE SYSTEM FOR MOUNTING
STEP 2 | Use the template that was included with your Rapids™ when it was
shipped.
Mount the template to the wall with removable tape. Ensure the tem-
plate is completely flat and level on the wall. Use a level on the horizontal
center line of the template for accuracy.
When the system is mounted it will extend 1ft./31cm above and below
the horizontal center line and 13.25 in./33.6 cm on either side of the
vertical center line.
