Nexam Pump Unit
WARNING
Do not switch on the roller pump if the clamp is
removed. Never put fingers or any other body parts in
the pump while it is running! Do not put any objects in
the roller pump. The pump is designed to maintain a
constant speed; the rolls of the pump will not be
stopped easily. However, its maximum torque is
limited; indicated by a harmless rattling noise.
WARNING
Use only sterile filling liquids and sterile pump tubes
with part number
NPU 275/C
for the pump unit.
WARNING
If you discover any abnormal behavior with the pump
unit, stop the pump with the remote control and open
the clamp, or disconnect the catheter from the system.
WARNING
During a pre-test the pump unit will not stop on
over-pressure.
CAUTION
The pump tube needs to be replaced for each patient.
Long-term usage of the tube will decrease the yield of
the tube.
CAUTION
Do not hang weights > 3.5 kg on the hook of the pump
unit. The infused volume transducer will be damaged.
CAUTION
Never apply any force on the hook of the pump unit.
CAUTION
The bag of saline and the pump tube installed on the
pump unit must hang free during operation.
NOTE
Ensure that the correct specific weight of the infusion liquid
is set in the investigation protocol. This is essential as the
infused volume is calculated by determining the decrease
in weight of the infusion liquid. If a video-mix option is fitted,
the system will automatically calculate infused volume
using the specific weight entered for the contrast liquid if,
and only if, the video-mix option is switched ON.
