Setup DT-XX transducers
Note the following information:
•
When there are air bubbles in the catheter or water transducer, the
pressure will not be recorded well. You must flush the catheters to expel all
air bubbles.
•
If the water transducers are not placed at symphysis pubis level, the
pressures may be too high or too low.
•
After inserting the catheters, the patient is asked to cough to verify the
pressure channels. If there is no signal, check if the stopcock is open to the
catheter (and not to atmosphere) or if there is air in the transducer or
catheter.
•
During the investigation you need to ask the patient to cough, for example
each 50 ml of bladder filling. This way you can check pressure recording.
The instructions for water catheters in combination with the reusable Memscap
pressure transducers can be found in a separate document (document code:
MAN-00011).

Measuring Pves and Pabd
Figure 3.13 shows the catheter setup for two pressures: P
ves
and P
abd
. This
catheter will be used for cystometry and pressure-flow studies.
