Transfer UBs to BANKx!
menu items saves the displayed frequencies in the non-volatile memory
of the bank selected and overwrites the existing frequencies.
Note:
Switched-in antenna wall outlets or poor signal conditions could impede the SCR-ADR scan.
The search function in the operating mode of UNICABLE and JESS has been deactivated.
6.5.4 JESS (EN 50607)
JESS (Jultec Enhanced Stacking System) is an expansion on UNICABLE Standard with a larger range of functions and is
now part of the EN50607 standard. Among other functions, it supports 24 UB slots and allows the frequency of the indi-
vidual slots to be read directly from the converter unit. The transmission of the commands occurs exactly as described
above for UNICABLE and in accordance with the DIN EN 50494 standard.
6.5.4.1 Activation and Configuration
The JESS control is activated by selecting
LNB
> DiSEqC > JESS.
Afterwards, a menu appears, allowing users to select the user band (UB) bandpass slot for the measuring receiver to use
(set SCR-ADR) and edit (edit SCR-ADR) the corresponding centre frequency. These parameters can be obtained from
the data sheet of the converter unit being used. 32 UB slots are available in one bank. Individual UB frequencies can be
edited as described above for UNICABLE.
The following figure shows the device in JESS mode with the LNB menu open.
6.5.4.2 Operation
The JESS control can be used to convert 32 SAT-IF layers in a maximum of 32 UB slots. These are further divided into 4
satellite positions with 4 to 8 SAT-IF layers each. Each connected receiver (maximum of 32) operates using a dedicated
UB slot. This is defined via the UB number.
These JESS control parameters are set via
LNB
> SAT-IF-Layer > Satellite and -> set UBs.
The measuring receiver is tuned as described in the “Frequency input” chapter.
