Option 1 - Mounting the Sensor to a Horizontal Surface
1. Choose a mounting location based upon the
guidelines in “
Choosing the Best Location for the
GyroTrac Sensor” on page 14
.
2. Orient the sensor so that the forward reference on
the end cap is pointed forward and is parallel to
the vessel’s fore-and-aft axis (to ±5°). The proper
orientation is illustrated in Figure 2-11.
3. Position the horizontal sensor bracket so that the
sensor module will be properly oriented when
placed in the bracket.
4. Using the holes in the bracket feet as a template,
mark locations for the four mounting screws.
Center punch and drill the four holes with a

(3.5 mm) bit. Reposition the bracket over the
mounting holes.
