BASIC SETTING

Setting the shift points on the sensor box

NOTE:

The position of the shift points depends on the shift and gear mechanism of the engine itself, as well as on the dynamics of the

shifting procedure and can be further optimized during operation, if necessary. The setting is optimal when the shift lever can be

operated quickly and fully without a perceptible resistance.

General functional principle

The points at which the ignition is switched off (“STOP”) and switched on (“RESTART”) can be adjusted continuously using the

two Allen set screws on the face of the slider. By default, the visible ends of the adjusting screws are set flush with the face of the

slider.

In this setting, the travel of the slider from “STOP” to “RESTART” is approx. 6 - 7mm.

Adjusting the “STOP”/”RESTART” shift points

NOTE:

Before beginning the adjustment, it is important that the slider is centered over the slider housing when the shift lever is in neu-

tral. (See “Basic setting of shift lever”.)

Turning in the screws causes the ignition to "STOP" and "RESTART" at an earlier time. The red LED lights up while the ignition is

interrupted.

- “STOP” - Screw for switching off the ignition (marking “1”)

The ignition ”STOP” is adjusted using screw

“1”

.

Manually press the shift lever in the upshift direction Immediately after the first pressure point on the shift lever is reached (when

the shift drum begins turning in the transmission), the ignition must be switched off > Red LED lights up.

If this is not the case, turn adjusting screw

“1”

in or out until the desired result is achieved.

If the “STOP” occurs later or too late, if will be difficult or impossible to shift under full throttle.

If it is too early, there is the danger of shifting unintentionally or too early, e.g. due to shift lever vibrations.

- “RESTART” - Screw for restarting the ignition (marking “2”)

The ignition ”RESTART” is adjusted using screw

“2”

.

Slowly push the shift lever further and turn the rear wheel. First, a position is reached in which the rear wheel turns freely. Shortly

thereafter, the shift drum audibly engages in the next higher gear. The ignition should restart when this occurs and not earlier >

Red LED goes out and green LED lights up.

Recommendation:

First adjust the “RESTART” to this position of the shift lever and then, to ensure that the higher gear engages, turn out screw

“2”

by approx. one rotation.

If the “RESTART” occurs too early, the gear wheels may not engage properly in the higher gear.

NOTE:

To move the shift points to an earlier time:

turn in

the respective adjusting screw.

To move the shift points to a later time:

turn out

the respective adjusting screw.

Quick shift in use/maximum interruption time

Shifting now takes place without clutch or throttle activation. The faster the shift lever is activated, the softer and smoother shif-

ting will be.

NOTE:

If ignition problems arise due to a problem, the quick shifter can be fully deactivated electrically by switching it off (ON/OFF

switch) during the ride. If the problem persists, the cause lies somewhere else.

The red LED is only used for adjusting the shift points. Because shifting is normally completed after approx. 20-35ms at the latest,

the maximum possible time without ignition is limited to approx. 80ms. Thus, the transmission can be shifted from first gear to

neutral (e.g. when stationary at idle speed) without stalling the engine. Also, this maximum interruption time limits the duration of

the impact of unintentional shifting, for example.

LUBRICATION/CLEANING OF SENSOR BOX OR SLIDER

Never oil or grease as this will attract dirt.

Remove dirt and abrasive sand from the box and slider.
