The first few
seeds of the
treating process
are not coated
well.
It could be that the VariRate
“Initial Boost” setting in the
AutoTreat system is not accurate
for the seed type.
Consult the AutoTreat manual for verification
and/or adjustment of this setting.
Seed keeps
trickling down
into the drum
after the job is
complete.
The seed basket in the atomizer
housing and the plastic cone that
protects the atomizer are too
close together. Seed keeps
trickling because the gap is
restricting the flow.
Using 5/16” washers you can shim up the
atomizer housing where it bolts together and
thereby create more room between the cone
and the atomizer housing. This will ensure
that all the seed being treated gets covered
equally and makes it through when treating.
Seed is unevenly
treated.
The seed is not flowing evenly
over the plastic cone that protects
the atomizer motor.
If seed is coming down only one side of the
cone, or is not flowing evenly around the
cone, contact the KSi Mechanical Service
department.
Liquid plumbing is constricted.
Review plumbing for pinched or kinked
lengths and correct constriction.
Liquid plumbing is partially
plugged.
Clean or replace plugged components.
The conveyor is
vibrating.
Mixing baffles may be sticking too
far into conveyor and rubbing on
the conveyor belt.
Adjust the height of each mixing baffle so
that the height the space between the belt
and the mixing baffle roughly equals the
space needed for one layer of seed.
The belt is not tracking in the
center of the conveyor.
Track the belt.
Damage can occur to the belting,
causing a noise. Damage usually
is caused from foreign material
being run through the conveyor.
It may be necessary to remove the SMX
mixing lids, bottom conveyor pans, and
potentially belt, and inspect conveyor.
Conveyor belt is
slipping.
Belt tension is too low.
Tension belt using the adjustment bolts on
the tracking mechanism. Ensure that the belt
is tracking properly after tensioning the belt.
Belt is extremely dirty.
Clean traction side of the belt.
