Vibration sensors and shaft trajectory measurement (if applicable)
1. For information on the sensor for the respective measuring point, please refer
to the list of measuring points and check at the place of installation.
2. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
3. Run the electric connecting cables in cable conduits until just before reaching
the measuring point and have them connected by authorised personnel.
5.20 Preservation for standstill
If the pump is not commissioned immediately after its installation, carry out the
measures for preservation.
5.21 Check list for installation

Check the condition and dimensions of the
foundation for compliance with the installation
plan.

Pre-align the foundation (adjusting screws/
shims).

Place the foundation bolts into the baseplate.

Insert the special foundation bolts.

Place the baseplate and readily mounted
components of the set onto the foundation.

Install the drive.

Pre-align the pump set components.

Grout the foundation bolts.

Grout the special foundation bolts.

Allow the concrete to set.

Align the pump set components.

Tighten the anchor bolts.

Grout the baseplate.

Mount all pipes, valves, fittings, pipe unions.

Check all pipe connections for parallelism.

Fine-align all components making up the set(s)
using dial gauge with 0.1 mm scale divisions.
Record the readings in the KSB alignment/
taking-over certificate.
16
Pin the pump (set) on the baseplate.
17
Check variable spring hangers, if fitted, for
proper functioning. Remove locking device if
applicable.
