Using the maize header
Note
Clean cut
•
The collector speed must not be higher than the feed rate of the crop
into the harvester. The speed must be set as high as is required to
ensure a clean cut crop.
•
The travelling speed is based primarily on the throughput of the forage
harvester.
•
Move the maize header to the working position and lower it down to the ground or to the
required cutting height.
•
Switch on the maize header drive and adjust it to working speed.
•
Drive into the crop with the forage harvester.
•
The driving and collector speed depends on the particular operating conditions (ground
conditions, the height and nature of the crop).

Caution!
Turning on or reversing the maize header
Effect: Damage to the machine

The maize header must only be turned on or reversed when it is in the
working position and the forage harvester is running at idle.

The pendulum frame of the forage harvester can be used to swing the
EasyCollect back and forth during operation. To do this, move the hydraulics
for swinging on the forage harvester to the float position.
