Overwintering
8.1 Special safety instructions
8.2 General information
Before putting away the short-stalk loading wagon for the winter, thoroughly clean it, both inside and outside. Use a
high-pressure cleaner for this purpose. Do not point the water jet directly at the bearings. After cleaning, grease all
the lubrication nipples. Do not wipe away grease emerging
from
the bearings. The collar of grease provides additional
protection against moisture.
Remove drive chains and wash them in paraffin (do not use any other solvent). Check for wear on the chains and
sprockets at the same time. After the chains have been cleaned, oil them and put them back on the machine.
Check all moving parts such as guide rollers, joints and linkages and tension rollers etc for leaks. If need be,
dismantle, clean and lubricate with grease and re-assemble. Replace parts with new ones where necessary. Only use
genuine
KRONE spare parts
.
Pull the articulated shaft apart. Lubricate the inner tube and the protective sleeve with grease. Grease the lubrication
nipple on the universal joint and the bearing ring of the protective sleeve.
Park the short-stalk loading wagon in a dry place, not in the vicinity of artificial fertilisers or animal housing.
Repair damaged paintwork and thoroughly treat bare metal with rust inhibitor.
Only jack up the short-stalk loading wagon with a suitable vehicle jack. Make sure that the jacked-
up short-stalk metering wagon is stable.
Jack up the short-stalk loading wagon to relieve the tyres. Protect the tyres from external effects such as oil, grease
and radiation from the sun.
Have the necessary maintenance work carried out during the period directly after the harvest season. Draw up a list
of all the spare parts needed. In so doing, you will make it easier for your KRONE dealer to process your orders and
you can rest assured that your machine will be ready and available at the start of the new season.
•
The following applies during all maintenance, assembly, repair and adjustment work:
•
The machine must be shut down.
•
The engine must be shut down.
•
Remove the ignition key and switch off the electrical supply at the control box.
•
Secure the tractor and loading wagon from rolling away.
•
Avoid getting oils, greases, cleaning agents and solvents on your skin.
•
In case of injury or burns due to oils, cleaning agents or solvents, immediately call a doctor.
•
After care and maintenance work is finished, re-install all protective covers and protective
devices in the correct manner.
•
All other safety instructions must also be followed to avoid injury and accidents.
