Safety
These operating instructions contain fundamental
information which must be taken into account when
hitching up, operating or maintaining the machine. For
this reason, these operating instructions must be read
by all personnel before starting up and using the
machine and must be made accessible to personnel at
all times.
Not only must the general safety instructions under the
main heading "Safety" be followed but also the special
safety instructions under the other main points.
2.1 Identification of safety remarks
in the operating instructions
The safety instructions contained in these operating
instructions (which will put personnel at risk if not
followed) are labelled with the general symbol for
danger:
Safety symbols in accordance with DIN 4844 - W9
Instructions are indicated as follows:
2.2 Personnel qualifications and
training
The short-stalk loading wagon must only be used,
serviced and maintained by personnel who are familiar
with this work and have been instructed about the
associated dangers. The owner must specify and
regulate precisely the responsibility, areas of
responsibility and supervision of personnel. Personnel
who are not in possession of the necessary knowledge
must undergo instruction and training. The owner must
also ensure that the contents of the operating
instructions are fully understood by the personnel.
Maintenance work which is not described in these
operation instructions must only be carried out by
authorised specialist workshops.
2.3 Dangers involved in not
following the safety
instructions
Not following the safety instruction will put at risk
personnel, the environment and the machine. Not
following the safety instructions may result in the loss
of the right to any claims for damages.
In particular, non-adherence
for example
may result in
the following dangers:
– Danger to personnel due to working areas not being
cordoned off
– Breakdown of important machine functions
– Failure to use specified procedures for servicing
and maintenance
– Danger to personnel due to mechanical and
chemical effects
– Danger to the environment due to the leakage of
hydraulic oil.
2.4 Working with the appropriate
safety awareness
The safety instructions contained in these operating
instructions, existing national regulations for the
prevention of accidents and any internal working,
operating and safety instructions laid down by the
owner must be followed.
The Worker’s Protection and Accident Prevention
Regulations of the responsible Health and Safety
Executive are binding.
The safety instructions of the vehicle manufacturer
must be followed.
It is vital that the instructions attached to the machine
are followed and maintained in a fully legible form.
