Operation
3.7.7 Installing the cutters
Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
Make sure that:
•
the cutters are correctly located on
the pins (1) on the pivot and in
the safety rollers (2) .
•
and in the case of new or old, worn
blades, the control distance from
the cutter points to the conveyor
drum has been correctly adjusted.
•
Before the cutter unit has been
retracted, a check must be carried out
to make sure that all cutters (1) are in
alignment and are correctly installed.
•
It must be ensured that the upper cutter
unit is no longer in the „Intermediate
parking“ position.
As well as this, use the multipurpose
spanner (4) to lift the upper cutter unit
slightly, in order to release the catch
(1). Lower the upper cutter unit.
3.7.8 Retracting the cutter unit
The cutter unit is locked hydraulically by retracting it
against the end stop. To do this
•
retract the cutter unit (to the end stop)
•
switch the electric switch to „Neutral“
•
then switch the tractor valve from „Pressure“ to
“Neutral“ (for standard operating mode)
3.7.9 Distance, cutter-to-drum
When using new cutters, attention must be
given to the distance between the cutters
and the drum.
