This guide must be translated by the dealer into the language of the country of use (except if the translation is provided by the manufacturer).
For your own safety, you must strictly follow the usage, inspection, maintenance and storage instructions.
KRATOS SAFETY cannot be held liable for any direct or indirect accident occurring following use other than that provided for in these instructions;
do not use this equipment beyond its limits!
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE AND PRECAUTIONS:
The KRATOS SAFETY anchor point complies with requirements of the European standards EN
795:2012 (anchoring device - Type A), it is aimed to be fixed on a vertical host structure (preferably a metallic one) to connect some P.P.E. against the fall
of person during works at height through a connector (EN362). This anchor point
may be used by 4 persons at the same time.
The minimum breaking strength for axial pull-out force must be at least 11 kN.
The anchor point FA 60 014 00 comes with an integrated 12 mm threaded rod to enable fixing to the host structure. It is supplied with its means of
attachment (lock nut, washer); it is essential for safety reasons to use those elements properly or to replace them by elements with perfectly identical
characteristics.
Fastenings are not provided with anchorage point FA 60 014 01.
The anchor point has no top/bottom.

Position
The location of the anchor point has to be chosen so as to allow its safe connection/disconnection.
The location will take into account:
- The clearance needed by the fall arrest system connected to the anchor point.
- The risk linked to the pendulum effect in case of fall
- The fall factor.
Make sure that in case of fall the effort is applied in the direction indicated on figure 2. There should
not be any pulling force / twisting on the central axis.
Installation
FA 60 014 00:
Drill a 13 mm diameter hole in the anchoring structure, fix the anchor point on the
anchoring structure with the provided screw products (washer and lock nut).
FA 60 014 01:
Drill a 13 mm hole in the receiving structure, attach the anchorage point to the receiving
structure using the fastenings recommended based on the material the receiving structure is made from:
- steel structure: use an M12 grade 8.8 steel bolt with a washer and lock nut (not supplied), in a 13
mm through-hole,
- concrete structure (wall, ceiling, roof): use an M12 chemical anchor (not supplied) - strictly adhere to the chemical anchor manufacturer’s (Fischer/
Würth/Hilti) instructions to install the anchorage point.
The whole flat surface of the anchor point must be in contact with the host surface (see Figure 3).
In every instance, we recommend submitting every structural anchor (threaded rod), once it is installed in the material in question, to an axial pull-out
force of 5 kN to confirm the solidity of the fixing. The structural anchor should sustain the force for a minimum of 15 s.
The connections between the D-ring anchorage connector and the fall arrest system must be made using a connector (EN362). When in use, regularly
check that the connector is closed properly.
Place the anchor system so that the fall arrest system is located above the user’s position. Check that the installation is completed in a way that limits the
swinging effect and the risk and height of falls. For safety reasons and before each use, make sure that, in case of a fall, there are no obstacles to prevent
the normal operation of the fall arrest system attached to the anchorage point.
User safety relies on the effectiveness of the equipment and full understanding of the safety instructions contained in this leaflet.
Be aware of the hazards that could reduce the performance of your equipment, and therefore the user’s safety, if exposed to extreme temperatures (<
-30°C or > 50°C), prolonged exposure to the elements (UV rays, humidity), chemical agents, electrical constraints, twisting of the fall arrest system
during use, sharp edges, friction or cutting, etc.
The readability of the product’s markings must be checked regularly.
Before and during use, we recommend that you make the necessary arrangements for a safe rescue, should this be required.
This equipment must only be used by trained, competent and healthy persons, or under the supervision of a trained and competent person.
Warning!
Certain medical conditions may affect user safety; if in doubt, consult your doctor.
Before each use, check: the condition of the fixings and the anchor point, they must be in apparent good condition, without marks, shocks, deformations,
oxidation… The marking should be visible. In case of doubt, the anchor point has not to be used any more.
Do not remove, add or replace any component of the product whatsoever (anchor point, threaded rod, washer, lock nut).
Chemical products: do not use the device in the event of contact with chemical products, solvents or fuels which could affect its operation.
