TESTING AND ADJUSTING
MEASURING OIL LEAKAGE
a
Measuring instruments fro oil leakage
1. Measuring oil leakage from boom cylinder
1) Run the engine and heighten the engine oil
temperature to 45 – 55°C, and then move
the boom cylinder to the RAISE stroke end.

Release the residual pressure in the
piping on the boom cylinder head side.
For details, see RELEASING RESID-
UAL PRESSURE IN HYDRAULIC CIR-
CUIT (Operate the lever in the boom
RAISE direction only, however).
2) Disconnect hose (1) on the cylinder head
side and block the hose side with a plate.

Take care not to disconnect the hose on
the cylinder bottom side.

Use the following part to block the hose
side.

3) Run the engine at high idling and relieve the
boom circuit by raising the boom.
k
Take care not to "lower the boom".
4) Measure the oil leakage for 1 minute after 30
seconds since relieving is started.
5) After finishing measurement, return the
removed parts.
2. Measuring oil leakage from arm cylinder
1) Run the engine and raise the engine oil tem-
perature to 45 – 55°C, and then move the
arm cylinder to the IN stroke end.

Release the residual pressure in the
piping on the arm cylinder head side.
For details, see RELEASING RESID-
UAL PRESSURE IN HYDRAULIC CIR-
CUIT (Operate the lever in the arm IN
direction only, however).
2) Disconnect hose (2) on the cylinder head
side and block the hose side with a plate.

Take care not to disconnect the hose on
the cylinder bottom side.

Use the following part to block the hose
side.

3) Run the engine at high idling and relieve the
arm circuit by moving the arm IN.

Take care not to "move the arm OUT".
4) Measure the oil leakage for 1 minute after 30
seconds since relieving is started.
5) After finishing measurement, return the
removed parts.
