Installing the hub onto the shaft
NOTICE
When the brake is being used in a servo motor, we recommend attaching the hub with a
shrink fitting (heating it up first). Alternatively, a key may be used to avoid shrinkage.

Requirement for mounting:
The design of the shaft must be such that the axial position of the hub fits relative to the de-
sign of the brake.
A minimum distance of at least 1.2 mm between the hub and armature plate must be main-
tained!
1. Heat up the hub to the necessary joining temperature of approx. 300 °C.
2. Push the hub into position against the shaft shoulder (refer to illustration).
3. Allow the hub to cool completely before proceeding with the assembly. The full holding force of the
shaft-hub connection is reached after approx. 24 hours.
