P/T/Z Addressing Requirements
All camera inputs (whether fixed cameras or P/T/Z units) are connected to a multiplexer input. The
multiplexer has an RS-485 network address, and so does the Pan/Tilt camera receiver.
This address determines when the telemetry receiver will respond to commands sent via the RS-485
data line. The multiplexer addresses are set in the range from 1 to 32, as are camera numbers
connected to the multiplexer.
The setting of the telemetry receiver’s address can easily be determined using the following table:
Multiplexer Address
Camera Range
Receiver Address Range
01
1-32
00-31
02
33-64
32-63
03
65-96
64-95

07

When more than eight multiplexers are installed, use the following formula:
Telemetry Receiver Address
=
32
x
(Multiplexer ID
-
1)
+
Camera Number
-
1
In other words, telemetry receiver units connected to the inputs of the first multiplexer will have
addresses of 0 to 31, regardless of the number of camera inputs the unit has.
This is because the addresses must be reserved in blocks large enough to handle the maximum
number of inputs a given unit might have (for example, the MMX-325CE has 32 inputs).
The receivers connected to the second multiplexer, will have addresses of 32 to 63, etc.
5.5 Kalatel CyberDome Programming
This section will explain how the user can access the Kalatel Dome programming menu.
The following keys are available when the Kalatel CyberDome Programming menu is active.
The key on the keypad is identified within the
< >
symbols. Its function in the CyberDome menus
follows the
--
symbol.
EXAMPLE:
The
SEQUENCE
key is used when the CyberDome menus prompt for the user to
press the
NEXT
key.
