3. BEFORE DISASSEMBLING
3.1. Cautions
Before disassembling or reassembling a projector, always read and follow the Safety Cautions found in the front of this
manual.
(1) Always turn off the power before removing or re-installing parts. Also when turning off the power, wait until the cooling fan
stops automatically and then turn off the power switch.
(2) Clamps, etc., are used to keep the internal wiring away from high-temperature parts and high-voltage parts. These should
always be returned to the original condition.
(3) When the top case has been removed, use caution to prevent the entry of foreign matter and always work in a dust-free
environment.
(4) The optical unit contains exposed optical parts such as prisms, mirrors, etc. Use caution to avoid damaging or soiling these
optical parts. Use the cleaning paper, etc., and wipe out the soil. At this time, there is a fear of damaging the coated film.
Therefore, avoid the use of solvents such as alcohol and the like.
(5) Use an air blower to remove dust from optical parts.
(6) Conductive paint is used on the insides of the top and bottom cases. If the power is turned on while a board is in contact
with this paint, there is danger of the board being damaged. Always spread the sheet located on top of the Main PWB
Ass’y before removing the Top Case Ass’y.
3.2. Tools and Equipment
・ Phillips screwdriver (20cm): for disassembly of the main unit outer case and internal parts
・ 5mm nut driver: for removing nuts
・ 7mm nut driver: for removing nuts
・ 8mm nut driver: for removing nuts
・ Tweezers: for disconnecting FPC cables
・ Brush: for removing dust
・ Vacuum cleaner: for removing dust
・ Air blower: for removing dust
・ Cleaning paper: for cleaning glass surfaces
