Removing a CompactFlash Card from a T4000 RE-C1800 Routing Engine

The CompactFlash card is located in the slot labeled

on the Routing Engine faceplate.

To remove the CompactFlash card (see

Figure 128 on page 271

Place an electrostatic bag or antistatic mat on a flat, stable surface.

Verify that the

Online

DISK1

, and

LEDs on the backup Routing Engine faceplate

are off.

Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect
the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.

Using a Phillips (+) screwdriver, number 2, loosen the captive screws on the corners
of the cover over the Routing Engine slots.

Remove the cover from the Routing Engine slots.

CAUTION:

Do not remove the cover if any of the LEDs are lit.

Press the eject button on the right side of the CompactFlash card slot to release the
CompactFlash card.

The CompactFlash card pops partially out of the slot. Grasp the card and pull it
completely out of the slot.

Place the CompactFlash card on the antistatic mat.

Installing a CompactFlash Card into a T4000 RE-C1800 Routing Engine

To install a CompactFlash card (see

Figure 129 on page 272

Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect
the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.

Insert the CompactFlash card into the CompactFlash card slot on the Routing Engine,
with the logo facing up.

CAUTION:

Be sure to insert the CompactFlash card with the label facing

up. Inserting the CompactFlash card incorrectly might damage the Routing
Engine.
