6.9.8. Drive belt change
The procedure for changing belts is similar to tensioning the belts.
6.9.9. Guide pulleys
The guide pulleys avoid flutter of the belt.
The distance between the belt and the guide pulley should be 3-4 mm.
6.10. Freewheel (optional)
6.10.1 Mounting the freewheel
1. Mount and screw on belt pulley etc. on the freewheel. Check for correct fit at
the flange (axial run-out!).
2. Slide the freewheel onto the shaft and fix it to the shaft.
Do not hammer on the freewheel when mounting the freewheel. This can cause
damage to the ball bearing or the sealing edges for the v-rings in the cover plate
or in the flange.
Normally easy sliding seats are designated for the mount of the freewheel. If
higher force is necessary make sure that no pressure is forced from the outer ring
due the bearing on the inner ring or the other way round. Only push the cover
plate in the area of the bolts to avoid deformation of the sealing edge for the v-
ring.
6.10.2 Lubrication and Maintenance
Freewheels that are factory mounted to the machines are filled ready for use.
Change oil once a year.
These intervals are guidelines. According to the working conditions of the freewheel
these intervals must be adapted.
Follow these steps to change the oil:
1. Remove the screws in the cover plate of the freewheel and turn one of the
holes vertical down so that the oil can drain totally.
2. Fill the freewheel with a low viscose flush oil and let it run for a short period of
time. Afterwards drain again.
3. Turn the filling hole vertical up.
4. Fill in fresh oil until it drains out of the overflow hole. Let overrun oil drain.
5. Fully close both holes with the screws and the sealings. Use the following
tightening torque!
