UV bulb replacement and quartz tube maintenance:

System and connection may vary by

1. Turn the breaker to the spa OFF. DRAIN YOUR SPA.
Disconnect the CLEAR
RAY
System from the
controller, Figure 2.
Note:
If you are only replacing the UV bulb then the spa
does not have to be drained. You will need to drain it if
you are replacing or cleaning the quartz tube.
2. Once the UV bulb has cooled off remove the CLEAR
RAY
System
enclosure cover (10) and gasket (9) by removing the four screws
(11).
3. Remove the black bulb boot (8) by sliding it over the cable away from
the quartz seal compression nut (7), Figure 3.
4. Slowly remove the UV bulb (4) out of the quartz tube.
5. Remove bulb socket (5) from the UV bulb (4), Figure 4.
6. Remove the quartz seal compression nut (7) by turning it
counterclockwise,

channel-lock pliers if needed, Figure 5. You will
notice that there is a stainless steel compression
washer (6) that slides over the quartz tube. Save
the washer (6) for later use, Figure 6. There is
also a black seal ring (13), grasp the black seal
ring; slowly and carefully remove the quartz tube.
