The CANio 250 is conditionally operational:

byte 0 contains 0xff.
0x81 Reset The CANio 250 needs to be initialized complete-
ly. The Reset is described more in detail later in
this document.
The CANio 250 does not communicate with the
CAN bus during this initialization.
After being initialized, it will announce itself with
the
Bootup message at the CAN bus.
It will be in the state
„operational“
0x82 Limited Reset The CANio 250 shall only initialize these fea-
tures, with which it will communicate via the
CAN bus. This limited Reset is described more
in detail later in this document.
The CANio 250 does not communicate with the
CAN bus during this initialization.
After being initialized, it will announce itself with
the
Bootup message at the CAN bus.
It will be in the state „operational“
