Direct Connection
The Direct Connection method enables SIP trunks to connect directly to the
ECS without the use of a SIP proxy.
Direct Connection Example
The direct connection example below shows 25 SIP trunks directly
connected to the ECS system and requires 25 SIP licenses (PN: 000331)
and 25 ECS Port licenses (PN: 000317) that can be routed via DID.
Note
: Available features will vary greatly depending upon the SIP trunk
provider. Prior to deploying SIP trunks please consult with your Authorized
Iwatsu Distributor for a thorough analysis, supported SIP trunk providers, and
for other conditions and limitations.

: Enterprise-CS does not support faxing over SIP trunks. Please consult
with your Authorized Iwatsu Distributor for other conditions and limitations.
Caller ID Name for SIP Trunks
New in ECS software version 8.0 is the ability to recognize to display the
caller ID name (up to 16 characters) to be displayed on stations receiving
calls on SIP trunks.
Caller ID / Telephone Number Format
ENUM (E.164 NUmber Mapping) formatted caller ID numbers are now
supported by the ECS and will be displayed with an incoming call.
SIP Trunk Capacity Expansion
The maximum capacity of SIP trunks supported in the ECS system has
increased to 248.
Note
: The total number of concurrent SIP trunk calls cannot exceed the
number of SIP trunk licenses or available IX-MBU channels. IX-MBU max =
160 MBU channels with G.711 (G.729 not supported).
