DANGER
Failure to follow the correct procedure
when fitting a tyre on a wheel or rim can
produce an explosion which may result in
serious injury or death.
DO NOT attempt to fit a tyre unless you
have the proper equipment and experience
to perform the job. Have the work carried
out by your ITMCO. Dealer or a qualified re-
pair service.
When sealing tyre beads onto rims, nev-
er exceed 2.4 bar (35 lbf/in
2
) or the maxi-
mum inflation pressure specified by the
tyre manufacture for fitting tyres. Inflation
beyond this maximum pressure may break
the bead, or even the rim, with a dangerous
explosive force. If both beads are not seat-
ed when the maximum pressure is reached,
deflate, reposition the tyre, relubricate the
bead, and re-inflate. Observe the following
safety points:
• Always use a safety cage if available
(Fig. 39).
• DO NOT re-inflate a tyre that has been
run flat or badly under-inflated with-
out first removing it from the wheel
and checking for damage. Any damage
should be professionally repaired.
• DO NOT stand over or in front of the
tyre.
• Use a clip-on chuck and extension hose
when inflating a tyre and stand to one
side.
• DO NOT hit a rim or tyre with a hammer
when the assembly is inflated.
• NEVER use a tube in a tyre larger - or
smaller - than the one for which it was
designed.
• NEVER install tubes that have buckled
or creased.
• NEVER rework, weld, heat or braze
damaged rims.

If any of the wheels have been removed,
or you are checking the tightness, the wheel
nut tightening torques are as follows:
