2 Basic Operation
2.1 Network Drive Setup
To connect the LAN disk to your network, an additional switch, router or hub may be required. The
USB cable has to be disconnected in order for the network drive to work.
Connect the power supply to your network drive and plug it into the wall socket. Connect the
Ethernet cable to your network drive and plug it into the network switch or router. Next, turn on the
power and wait for approximately one minute for the device to start. Once ready, login as admin.
If there is a DHCP server on your local network, the network drive will automatically obtain an IP
address from the DHCP server. If there is no DHCP server, the network drive will automatically
enable its own DHCP server and default to the IP address 169.254.0.1.
Note
If you experience slow transfer speeds, go to the Advanced Properties of your network
adapter and make sure the FlowControl is enabled and the Speed is set to Auto-Sense.
