2.3 Web Configuration - Status
2.3.1 Host Name
By default, the host name is set to STORAGE-xxxx, where xxxx stands for the last four digits of
your MAC address (e.g. STORAGE-000F).
This name is used to identify your device on the network. If you prefer a different name that is
easier to remember, click
Change
, type in a new name and click
OK
to save it.
Note
When selecting a new hostname, make sure to use a unique name and not one that has
already been used on the local network.
2.3.2 Group Name
This should be the same name as your workgroup. In general, the default WORKGROUP will work,
but if your workstation belongs to a different group, click
Change
, modify it and click
OK
to save it.
