4 Malfunctions
4 .1 Material jam in machine
(Auto-reverse-function)
If too much material is fed in, causing a jam, the machi-
ne will respond as follows:
• Cutting mechanism halts, then runs one step in re-
verse (material will be released) and stops.
• The motor shuts down automatically.
• The pilot lamp (fig. 1/7) lights up.
Proceed as follows:
Paper jam in the paper feed slot (9)
1 .
Tear off the returned paper just above the feed slot.
2 .
Briefly move the rocker switch (fig. 1/2) to the “ ”
position.
¾
The pilot lamp (fig. 1/7) goes out.
¾
The cutting system then runs forward and
shreds the paper remaining in the cutter.
3 .
Continue shredding, feeding smaller quantities of
paper.
Material jam in the CD/DVD feed slot (fig . 2/1)
Caution!
Danger of injury!
Take care when removing material as sharp
edges may cause injury!
1 .
Remove the returned material.
2 .
Briefly move the rocker switch (fig. 1/2) to the “ ”
position.
¾
The pilot lamp (fig. 1/7) goes out.
¾
The remaining material to be shredded is then
fed to the cutting system again.
3 .
Once the remaining material has been shredded,
continue shredding, feeding the correct quantities.
4 .
If necessary, move the cutting system manually to
and fro between forward and reverse running until
all the material has been fed through and shred-
ded.
NOTE!
Wait each time until the motor stops before
switching direction!
4 .2 Motor protection
The motor shuts down automatically, should it become
overloaded. The pilot lamp (fig. 1/6) lights up. Turn the
machine off with the pushbutton switch (fig. 1/1).
Allow the motor to cool down for 50 to 55 minutes (de-
pending upon room temperature) and then continue
shredding.
4 .3 Checklist in case of malfunc-
tions
If the device does not function, check the following:
• Is the plug connected to the mains?
• Is the pushbutton switch (fig. 1/1) on?
• is the receptacle placed properly under the machi-
ne?
• is the receptacle full?
¾
The receptacle has to be emptied.
• is there a material jam in the machine?
¾
Follow the instructions under
„Material jam in
machine“, p. 11.
• has the motor been overloaded?
¾
Wait until the motor has cooled, and then re-
start.
If none of the above applies, please contact your dea-
ler.
