Chapter 6 — Advanced Confi guration
to the printer’s confi guration pages. Th
e web server generates these web
pages with dynamic information on the fl y. Th
is process makes the
printer’s real time generated pages appear in the Intermec style. Th
e
colors and logo of the customer will be ignored.
Web Style Guide Files
Th
e EasyLAN is prepared for customization of the default web pages in
a more permanent way by changing the confi guration of the engine that
generates the pages. While generating the pages, the web server accesses
confi guration parameters, like the background color, the name of logos
to be displayed on the page and generates the HTML code. Default
confi guration of these parameters makes the printer’s web page appear in
the Intermec style, with corporate colors and logos. When changing the
parameters, the web pages are permanently customized. Customization
of these parameters has to be done in specifi c fi les called
“Web Style Guide
Files”
, assigning user defi ned values to several support environment
variables.
Web style guide fi les contains parameters to set web page content and
layout. Th
ese fi les can be stored either on /c or pff s:.
In the fi le system, /c has priority over pff s:, which implies that if there is
a web style guide on /c (for example /c/webstyleguide.0), the printer will
not look for pff s:webstyleguide.1. We suggest that web style guides are
stored on pff s: to minimize the risk that they are accidentally removed.
Content of a Web Style Guide File
A Web Style Guide fi le has to contain a set of mandatory environment
variables and it can also contain optional variables. All variables have to
be lowercase, followed by a “=” sign and a consistent value. Th
ere is no
specifi c order of the variables.
