Console Line Interface

Command Line Interface Overview

The Innovx FastSwitch 24 provides a command line interface (CLI) that allows the user to 
configure various  features such as  Spanning Tree Protocol, VLAN, MAC filter, Port Mirroring, 
Priority Queue, 802.1x  and also perform maintenance functions such as user password 
maintenance, log traps, configuration upload and download, etc. The command line interface can 
be accessed via the serial RS-232 port or via  a Telnet session. 

This chapter provides a complete description of configuration and monitoring commands available 
to the user at the command line interface.

Setting up the Management Station

To make a Telnet CLI connection to the switch, configure the IP address, subnet mask and default 
gateway using a terminal program at the console port, or using DHCP to assign an IP address.

Note

The user must specify the user name and password to login. The default user name is

Basic CLI Commands

Depending on the access level, the following commands are available to authorized users for 
configuring and controling the switch:

Clear or restore configuration to factory defaults.

config

Configure switch options and settings

copy

Transfer a file to or from the switch

Help for CLI commands

Exit this session. Any unsaved changes will be lost

Enter menu interface.

Reset the switch
