About Touch Tronic DC
The
Touch Tronic DC
transformer is a complex piece of
electronic equipment, comparable to a radio or calculator,
and must be treated with appropriate care. Do not drop
the transformer or expose it to damp, heat or direct sun-
light. Avoid contact with used magnetic tapes, cheque or
credit cards, floppy disks or similar items. Do not cover
the transformer or mount it in an enclosed space with
restricted air flow; the resultant overheating will trigger
the automatic cutout. Maximum ambient temperature
40 °C (104 °F).
The transformer is for use with 24 V/35 W lamps
only.
Danger! Do not on any account open the casing of
the transformer. Any repairs must be carried out by
us. See the enclosed warranty for details.
Functions
1. Switch and sensor
Touch Tronic DC
allows the user to switch the lamp on and
off by briefly touching the upper surface of the circuit
board. Longer contact (+0.5 seconds) activates the freely
adjustable dimmer. The lamp can also be switched on and
off at the mains.
2. Electronic fuse and overload protection
Touch Tronic DC
is fitted with an electronic fuse. When the
fault has been remedied, the sensor must be reactivated
by switching the lamp off and on or briefly unplugging it
at the mains.
3. Soft start
When the lamp is switched on,
Touch Tronic DC
gradually
builds up the current and brightness.
Possible causes of faults
- Contact between the mains cable and the low-voltage
lead,which must be kept separate.
- Treading on the lead can activate the dimmer.
- Touch only current-bearing par ts with an even surface
when switching the lamp on and off (moisten your finger
slightly if your skin is very dry).
-
Touch Tronic DC
will not work with a power supply that
is already controlled by a dimmer.
- The correct functioning of the electronic components
depends on the mains current and may be impaired in
exceptional cases, e.g. if you have your own generator or
transformer.
- In the event of overheating,
Touch Tronic DC
will switch
off automatically. When the fault has been remedied, the
transformer must be reactivated by switching the lamp
off and on or briefly unplugging it at the mains.
