Immediate replacement:
When a PSU fails, it should be
replaced immediately. However, do not remove the PSU unless a
replacement is readily available. Removing a PSU without a
replacement will cause severe disruptions to the internal airflow
and the subsystem will overheat, possibly causing irreparable
damage to some of the subsystem components.
To replace a PSU, please follow these steps:
Step 1.
Turn off the PSU.
The power switch is located on each
PSU’s rear-end panel. (See

Step 2.
Disconnect the power cord
that connects the faulty PSU to
the main power source.
Step 3.
Remove the PSU retention screw
that secures the extraction
handle to the chassis. (See
Figure 5-16
)
