1.7 ELECTRIC CONNECTION.
The electrical connection operations must be
performed after having disconnected the power
from the appliance.
The “Magis Hercules ErP” boiler has an IPX5D
protection rating for the entire appliance. Electri-
cal safety of the appliance is reached only when
it is correctly connected to an efficient earthing
system as specified by current safety standards.
Attention:
Immergas S.p.A. declines any respon-
sibility for damage or physical injury caused by
failure to connect the boiler to an efficient earth
system or failure to comply with the reference
standards.
Also ensure that the electrical installation cor-
responds to maximum absorbed power specifi-
cations as shown on the boiler data nameplate.
Boilers are supplied complete with an “X” type
power cable without plug.
The power supply cable must be connected to
a 230V ±10% / 50Hz mains supply respecting
L-N polarity and the earth connection
on
this network must also feature a multi-pole
circuit breaker of class III overvoltage category.
When replacing the power supply cable, contact
a qualified firm (e.g. the Authorised After-Sales
Technical Assistance Service).
The power cable must be laid as shown (Fig. 1-3).
The boiler is equipped with two fuses: one 3.15A
230 V fast fuse and one 315 mA 24 V fuse for the
low voltage circuit, within the system manager
unit. Furthermore, an additional 3.15A 230 V fast
fuse is envisaged on the electronic board inside
the boiler control panel.
For the main power supply to the appliance,
never use adapters, multiple sockets or exten-
sion leads.
Make the various connections in the relevant
system manager box.
• Remote zone control connection.
Make the
data connection to the boiler using a suitably
sized 3-pole cable, connecting it to the termi-
nals T-, T+, GND (Fig. 1-4) and making it fol-
low the relevant path and making it follow the
relevant path as shown in the figure (1-3). The
remote zone control is powered independently
from the boiler at 230 V and for the connection
use a 2-pole cable.
• Solar panels electric connection.
To make the
connection, only use a suitably sized electric
cable, making it cross the same path as the
power cable (in the predisposed pipe), make
the connections on terminals 45 and 46, elimi-
nating resistance R15 (Fig. 1-4). Connect the
supplied probe on the solar panel and position
it in the relevant seat.
•Heat pump electrical connection.
The boiler
can be combined with an Immergas heat pump
which must be connected to the boiler on
terminals T- and T+ as shown in the wiring
diagram (Fig. 1-4). The heat pump is powered
independently by the boiler at 230 V.
Configure the boiler parameters as indicated in
paragraph “circuit board programming” (Par.
3.9).
• Important:
it is mandatory to prepare separate
lines with different supply voltage; it is essential
to separate the low voltage connections from
the 230 V ones. All boiler pipes must never be
used for earthing the electrical or telephone
system. Ensure elimination of this risk before
making the boiler electrical connections.
• Installation with system operating at low
direct temperature (zone 1).
The boiler can
power a low temperature system directly by
configuring the remote zone control adequate-
ly. In this situation it is good practice to insert
a relevant safety kit (optional) made up from
a thermostat (with adjustable temperature).
Execute connection to terminal boards 14
and 15, eliminating the jumper (Fig. 1-4). The
thermostat must be positioned on the system
flow pipe zone 1 (MA1) at a distance of at least
2 metres from the boiler.
Attention:
in the event the safety thermostat
intervenes, the boiler is switched off until the
normal operating conditions are restored.
• Photovoltaic system installation.
Connecting
the boiler to a photovoltaic system enhances
use of the heat pump when the photovoltaic
panels are operating. Connect to clamps 61
and 62.
