Global passport is the international roaming service which allows the
INFOBAR A01 used in Japan to be available overseas as it is.
You can use the INFOBAR A01 via either GSM network or CDMA
network according to your travel destination.
•
You can make a call via GSM network or CDMA network around the
globe with your usual phone number.
•
Because International call charges are billed together with call
charges in Japan without any additional application or daily/monthly
call charges, you can pay simply. For details of the countries where
global passport GSM/global passport CDMA is available, call
charges, the contents of the service, etc., refer to the Global
Passport Owner’s Guide (Japanese) or check them on the au
homepage or at Customer Service Center.

When you use global passport GSM/global passport CDMA overseas,
refer to “Configuring the Overseas Settings” and set each setting.
Using Global Passport CDMA/GSM
GLOBAL PASSPORT
•
GSM is an acronym of Global System for Mobile Communications. This is
one of the wireless communication systems applied to digital cell phones
and widely used around the globe such as in Europe, America, Asia,
Oceania and Africa. GSM does not support CDMA, PDC, etc. applied in
Japan.
•
The international roaming service is a service which enables voice calls etc.
with your phone or phone number of au used in Japan via cell phones
carrier’s networks overseas.
•
If you newly subscribe for the INFOBAR A01, you can use it overseas from
two days after the first use in Japan.
•
When you travel overseas, confirm “Phone number for inquiries when
overseas” described on the au homepage and keep a separate memo of it
before traveling. If the INFOBAR A01 or an au IC-Card is stolen or lost,
please contact for inquiries immediately to suspend phone service.
•
If an au IC-Card is stolen or lost, the card may be inserted into another
mobile phone (including GSM mobile phone for overseas use) by a third
party. So, it is recommended to set the PIN code to protect from improper
use by a third party.
