Family First Search
Command “ \f ” (bac lowercase F)
Command Compatible With:
Link | LinkHub-S | LinkHub-E | LinkUSB
This command is a “Family First” search command for certain LINK
TM
devices. It is similar to
the standard “ f ” or “First” command, except the “Family First Search” command expects the
next two hex characters to match the 1-Wire® family code included in the search. This causes
the search to start with a particular family code. The standard “ n ” or “Next” command is used
to retrieve the next 1-Wire® serial number matching the family code from the bus search.
Check the family code returned since the family search does not always end on the last device n
the bus. A “?” is returned instead of the normal “+” or “-“ character if there is a family search
mismatch or overshoot. This is shown below in Figure 9.
The “ \f ” requires two hex characters as data.
