Chapter 3. Installing the TS7650 Appliance
This chapter provides instructions for installing the populated TS7650 Appliance
AP1 frames, and making all required power and cable connections from the
Appliance components to the customer Ethernet network and host system, as well
as to an existing TSSC (if applicable).
Identifiers used in the cable diagrams distinguish individual components of the
AP1 servers. To identify ports and components on the 3958 AP1 server for
connections to the server, refer to Table 3 on page 15.
Attention:
Be sure to complete the installation of theTS7650 Appliance before
installing any miscellaneous equipment specification (MES) features. The
installation instructions for an MES feature assume that you are adding the feature
to an
installed
TS7650 Appliance.

The checklist in this section provides an overview of the workflow associated with
installing the appliance.

The following checklist provides a high-level overview of the tasks required to
successfully install the TS7650 Appliance in both stand-alone and clustered
appliance configurations.

If a TSSC, KVM, and KVM switch are not
installed in the 3958 AP1 frame, verify that
the customer has an existing TSSC. If so,
confirm that the existing TSSC has FC 2719,
and is in acceptable physical proximity to the
AP1 frame.

graphics-capable monitor are available for
use during installation.
