Chapter 1. Start Service
When you are ready to service the library, determine whether you will need to take
the library offline (see “Preparing the Library for Repairs” on page 9-2). If so, contact
the library administrator (customer) and ask them to complete or cancel any jobs that
are in the queue. When all library/drive activity is complete, take the library offline
(see “Taking the Library Offline/Online” on page 7-23).

1. Check the error message on the Operator Panel. If you
encounter an error code, see “Error Codes” on page 1-5.
2. Check the status of the cartridges, accessor, and drives
through the view window.
a. Check that all cartridges are completely inserted and
secured in the correct orientation.
b. Check that no cartridge or foreign object is laying on the
bottom of the library.
c. Check the drive status.
3. Power OFF the library.
4. Check that the drive canisters are seated properly in the
library.
5. Power ON the library.
