Replacing
the
side
cover
Complete
the
following
steps
to
replace
the
side
cover.
1.
Before
installing
the
cover,
check
that
all
cables,
adapters,
and
other
components
are
installed
and
seated
correctly
and
that
you
have
cleared
all
work
tools
from
inside
the
computer.
2.
Install
the
side
cover
by
placing
it
into
position
on
the
computer.
Make
sure
that
the
lip
on
the
bottom
of
the
cover
rests
inside
the
ledge
on
the
bottom
of
the
chassis
before
rotating
the
cover
toward
the
computer.
Press
down
and
forward
on
the
cover
until
it
locks.
3.
Reconnect
the
external
cables
and
power
cords
to
the
computer.
4.
Turn
on
the
attached
devices;
then,
turn
on
the
computer.
Connecting
external
options
You
can
connect
a
number
of
optional
external
devices
to
the
connectors
on
the
rear
and
front
of
the
computer.
Complete
the
following
steps
to
connect
an
external
device:
1.
Read
the
safety
information
beginning
on
page
vii,
the
guidelines
in
“Handling
static-sensitive
devices”
on
page
33,
and
the
documentation
that
comes
with
your
options.
2.
Turn
off
the
computer
and
all
attached
devices
(see
“Turning
off
the
computer”
on
page
19).
3.
Follow
the
instructions
that
come
with
the
option
to
prepare
it
for
installation
and
to
connect
it
to
the
computer.
