Open Firmware Command Prompt
To enter the Open Firmware command line, you must press the F8 key
after the
keyboard icon appears during startup.
If you have pressed the F8 key, the Open Firmware command line (an "OK" prompt)
appears after the initialization and power-on self test (POST) are complete.
The OK Prompt provides access to the Open Firmware command prompt. The Open
Firmware command prompt is used for debug purposes and device driver develop-
ment. Information about the commands are available in the IEEE Standard 1275.
The Open Firmware command line is used to set up adapters that are not
configurable with the System Management Services. Your adapter documentation
directs you to use this option if it is needed.
To exit from the Open Firmware command enter
reset-all
or power the system
down and reboot.
To enter the graphical System Management Services instead of the Open Firmware
command line, you must press the F1 key
after the keyboard icon appears during
startup.
To start the text-based System Management Services instead of the Open Firmware
command line, press 1 on the ASCII terminal keyboard when the keyboard text
symbol appears during startup.
