Depending
on
the
server
model,
one
or
more
of
the
following
drives
might
be
installed
in
the
server:

Diskette

Hard
disk
drive
v
CD-ROM,
CD-RW,
or
DVD/CD-RW
combo
The
server
might
come
with
an
IDE
CD-ROM
drive
in
bay
1
and
a
3.5-in.
Serial
ATA
hard
disk
drive
in
bay
4.

The
following
notes
describe
the
types
of
drives
that
the
server
supports
and
other
information
that
you
must
consider
when
installing
removable-media
and
hard
disk
drives:

Read
the
documentation
that
comes
with
the
drive
and
make
sure
that
you
have
all
the
cables
and
other
equipment
specified
in
the
documentation
that
comes
with
the
drive.
v
The
server
supports
a
maximum
of
two
hard
disk
drives,
four
DIMMs,
and
one
5.25-inch
device;
or,
one
hard
disk
drive,
four
DIMMs,
and
two
5.25-inch
devices;
or,
two
hard
disk
drives,
two
DIMMs,
and
two
5.25-inch
devices.

Diskette
drives,
tape
drives,
CD-ROM,
CD-RW/DVD
combo
drives
are
examples
of
removable-media
drives.
You
can
install
removable-media
drives
in
bays
1,
2,
and
3
only.
v
Only
the
optional
diskette
drive
can
be
installed
in
bay
3.
Other
drives
are
not
supported
in
bay
3.
v
You
can
install
SATA
hard
disk
drives
in
bays
4
and
5
only.
v
The
integrated
IDE
controller
in
the
server
supports
the
connection
of
up
to
two
IDE
devices.
v
The
electromagnetic
interference
(EMI)
integrity
and
cooling
of
the
server
are
protected
by
having
all
bays
and
PCI
or
PCI
Express
slots
covered
or
occupied.
