Using your fingernail or a flat-head screwdriver, press the white plastic release latch that is on the
slide assembly while at the same time pulling the inner slide rail. Remove the inner slide rail.
4. Remove the monitor and keyboard assembly from the packaging and lay it on a flat surface.
5. Align the holes on the inner slide rail (stamped A) with the notches on the plastic of the monitor and
keyboard assembly.
6. Install a screw in each of the holes to attach the inner slide rail to the monitor and keyboard assembly.
7. Repeat these steps to attach the other inner slide rail to the console.

Install the 7316-TF5 17.3-Inch flat panel rack-mounted monitor and keyboard into a rack.
To install the 7316-TF5 17.3-Inch flat panel rack-mounted monitor and keyboard into a rack, do the
following:
Attach the electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist strap. The ESD wrist strap must be connected to an
unpainted metal surface until the service procedure is completed, and if applicable, until the service
access cover is replaced.
Attention:
• Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist strap to the front ESD jack, to the rear ESD jack, or
to an unpainted metal surface of your hardware to prevent the electrostatic discharge from
damaging your hardware.
• When you use an ESD wrist strap, follow all electrical safety procedures. An ESD wrist strap is
used for static control. It does not increase or decrease your risk of receiving electric shock
when using or working on electrical equipment.
• If you do not have an ESD wrist strap, just prior to removing the product from ESD packaging and
installing or replacing hardware, touch an unpainted metal surface of the system for a minimum
of 5 seconds. If at any point in this service process you move away from the system, it is
important to again discharge yourself by touching an unpainted metal surface for at least 5
seconds before you continue with the service process.
1. Move to the front of the rack.
2. Holding one slide-rail horizontally, align the rear slide-rail bracket with the holes on the rear of the
rack.
3. Press the rear slide-rail bracket toward the rack flange until it clicks into place.
4. Pull the slide rail toward the front of the rack until the front bracket clicks into place behind the rack
flange.
