UNDEFINED
CHARACTER
SUBSTITUTION
specifies
the
replacement
character
to
in
place
of
any
unprintable
character
that
is
received
from
the
host.
The
character
becomes
the
printer
default
when:
v
The
printer
is
powered
off
and
then
powered
on.
v
An
SGEA
command
specifies
to
use
the
operator
panel
default.
v
The
“UNDEFINED
CHARACTER
REPORTING”
option
is
disabled.
The
character
code
point
can
be
set
to
the
following
values:
–
X'60'
(the
default)
–
X'40'
–
X'FE'
(HEX)
Text
Direction
Specifies
the
direction
in
which
characters
are
printed
on
the
page.
This
allows
the
printer
to
languages
which
are
printed
right
to
left
instead
of
left
to
right.

When
a
right
to
left
language
is
selected,
the
host
will
be
notified
of
direction
changes
when
the
printer
is
put
online.

signal

host
computer
when
any
of
the
following
occur:

Printer
faults
occur.

signal
on
printer
faults
that
cause
data
loss
(paper
jam,
ribbon
stall,
online
platen
open,
and
so
forth).
