Urinary mixed incontinence
Programs for the treatment of urinary mixed incontinence in women and faecal incontinence in men
(only P4), designed for strengthening pelvic floor and perineal muscles with poor functioning, or
sphincter muscles with low contracting capacity. The stimulation must be as strong as possible,
without being painful, and it is helpful if the patient participates actively in the muscles contractions. It
is also suggest that this training be combined with patient’s own exercises for pelvic floor muscles.
Recommended treatment time: 3-5 times a week.
Use vaginal probe for the treatment of urinary
incontinence in women, and anal probe for faecal incontinence both for men and women.

Urinary urge incont
faecal
Program for the treatment of urinary urge incontinence in women and faecal in men. Low frequency
stimulation has a relaxing effect on overactive bladder. The stimulation must be as strong as possible,
without being painful, and it is helpful if the patient participates actively in the muscles contractions.
Recommended treatment time: 2-5 times a week.
Use vaginal probe for the treatment of urinary
incontinence in women, and anal probe for faecal incontinence both for men and women.

High frequency TENS stimulation is very efficient in treatment of acute and chronic pain.
Recommended treatment time: at least 1 treatment a day.

Urinary incontinence
Very low frequency TENS stimulation promotes the endogenous production of morphine-like
substances capable of raising the pain perception threshold and also produces a vascularizing effect
that increases arterial flow and consequently aids the removal of algogenic substances.
These TENS programs are an alternative method to treat urinary incontinence without using vaginal
probe. The stimulation is applied using surfaces electrodes placed on the skin between anus and the
genitals or in the low lumbar region (similar to pic. 27, but 20cm. lower), with a stimulation intensity
strong enough to create a reflexive contraction of the anus.
The stimulation of the posterior tibial nerve acupuncture points has positive effects in the treatment of
incontinence (see pic. 32)
Recommended treatment time: start with 2-3 treatments a week, 30 minutes a day for at least one
month, then gradually reduce treatments.

: form a square above the painful area
as shown in illustration 1.
