Serial Communications Interface
The
PVD100
can be connected to a hand-held or notebook computer or any device that can
transmit and receive serial communications using RS-232C or
Bluetooth
®
using an
application such as HyperTerm. Commands can be sent to the
PVD100
to perform special
functions or select operating modes. The following describes the serial data requirements,
commands, and data formats that are used for the serial communications interface :

8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit

NOTE: Commands sent to the PVD100 are case sensitive – and must be upper case only.
When the commands ‘
S
’, ‘
T
’, and ‘
I
’ are received by the
PVD100
from an externally
connected device, the
PVD100
sends an acknowledge character ‘
A
’ back to the
device. For the ‘
S
’ command, the
PVD100
sends acknowledge character ‘
A
’ after the
PVD100
performs and completes the calibration. Note that invalid or unrecognized
commands will result in a ‘?’ being transmitted through the serial port.
