the user. This is what the
PVD100
uses to distinguish between the two meters.
The user enters any characters and numbers for the Serial Number. Up to seven
alphanumeric, numeric, and special characters all can be used to give a serial
number for the meter. Three control keys are used for position and data entry
control:
-
The ‘
Space bar
’ key inserts a ‘space’ into the character position.
-
The ‘
Backspace
’ key moves the cursor position backwards without changing
the character.
-
The ‘
Enter
’ or ‘
Carriage Return
’,
<CR>
key accepts the entry and moves to
the next data entry element.
Step 4
:
Enter the Serial Number for the meter. When the user has completed the entry,
press the
<CR>
key to enter the Serial Number. The USIP responds with the
following message:
NUMBER OF EQUATIONS? 3
Each meter (‘
A
’ or ‘
B
’) can have up to three equations for the full rating of the
meter. The number
3
shown above indicates what was previously selected for the
number of equations for the meter rating. The user enters ‘
1
’, ‘
2
’, or ‘
3
’ for the
number of equations for the rating. If the meter has been calibrated, the
calibration certificate will show the number of equations that describe the full
rating for the meter. Refer to
Appendix D
for an example of a calibration
certificate supplied with a meter.
Step 5
:
The user enters ‘
1
’, ‘
2
’, or ‘
3
’ for the number of equations for the rating. For this
example, the number ‘
3
’ is entered. The USIP responds with the following Range
1 value,
n,
in meters/second or feet/second;
1: n < 0.50
This is a default range and allows the user to enter the proper range as shown on
the fan calibration certificate provided by HyQuest Solutions Pty Ltd. when the
calibration of the meter was performed. There is no need to enter feet/second or
meters/second since units are selected in a selection menu.
Step 6
:
Enter the Range 1 value as shown on the calibration certificate, then press
<CR>
on the keyboard (i.e.’Enter’ key). Any numbers up to 9.99 can be used for the
range. The
PVD100
will only allow the user to enter numbers. Three control
keys are used for position and data entry control:
-
The ‘
Space bar
’ key moves the cursor position forward without changing the
number.
-
The ‘
Backspace
’ key moves the cursor position backwards without changing
the number.
-
The ‘
Enter
’ or ‘
Carriage Return
’,
<CR>
key accepts the entry and moves to
the next data entry element.
